AREXPRESSIONS.COM | New Site for AREXPRESSIONS Images

Hello and welcome! If you’ve reached this page, then I probably handed you my older business card, which I am in the process of updating. Although, much of this website is still relevant, I have been revamping the photography aspects of my business and applying a bit more of my focus on that medium of creativity.

That said, I hope you’ll visit my new website, AREXPRESSIONS.COM, hover above the Galleries Tab and view some of my photographic work. Feel free to browse the entire website in general…my latest Texas Yogis Project and Blog, which is my first endeavor as Program Director of the Texas Yoga Association.

I hope to see you at the Texas Yoga Conference next weekend, February 19-21, at India House! It’s going to be One Yogaliscious Event!!!

Free Day of Yoga | 2015

“FREE” is the Word! Word up, Yogi Homiez! Let us open our hearts in Gratitude for the Gifts that we are to each other and to the Gift of Yoga and all it has brought into our lives and all that it will bring into the hearts of those that have yet to experience all that it truly is. Our community is so great here in Houston and it keeps on GROWING and GROWING! Love spreading like ghee on some warm gluten-free breakfast toast! 😉

Loraine was born in England and has lived in Houston, Texas for the last 12 years.  Prior to that she travelled to various lands, practicing Midwifery and being a Childbirth Educator. Loraine welcomed Yoga into her life in 2007.  Since then she has been playing and breathing on her mat continuing to be in awe of what the practice unfolds. Loraine received her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification with Joy Winkler.

She has studied with Rhia Robinson and Melissa Smith and obtained her Yin and Restorative Yoga certification. She has also studied and obtained her certification to provide Yoga to war veterans who have suffered traumatic brain injury of post traumatic stress. Loraine has taught over 1000 hours of Yoga leading her to be a E-RYT with Yoga Alliance.  Loraine currently teaches at Yoga Collective in Garden Oaks, Houston. Loraine’s Yoga vision is to provide a fun, supportive, safe environment offering students “tools for their kit-bag” to observe themselves and simply BE. Loraine’s  teachings are an opportunity for self discovery; they are trickled with Yoga Philosophy and infused love.

Vanessa Mock of YogaOne

Vanessa’s teachings infuse elements of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Flow, Forrest and Pranakriya yoga styles within one class.  Expect a variety of poses broken down from the fundamental alignment to more advanced variations, so all can explore safely and with intention as the practice is not “one pose fits all”. She highlights a refined stability in the practice, finding the balance between strength and flexibility, to ensure it is sustainable for many years to come. Vanessa cultivated a consistent yoga practice in 2004, and graduated in 2007 from the highly respected 250 hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training from Wake Up Yoga under skillful and caring eyes of Corina Benner and Jill Manning in Philadelphia, Pa. She has continued her yoga journey with renunciant monk, Yoganand Michael Carroll, studying intensely in his 500 hour Professional Pranakriya Yoga Teacher Training and graduated in September 2011. She also completed over 120 hours of training in the Pranakriya Yoga Therapy program. Vanessa is currently enrolled full-time at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) in pursuit of her Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture & Herbology). After graduation, she intends to merge her knowledge of yoga and TCM into yoga classes, workshops, and continuing education for fellow teachers.  Vanessa currently teaches at YogaOne, The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa and River Oaks Country Club.

Amanda Field of Republic Yoga

Amanda Field Bio Pic
I have been teaching yoga since 2008. Initially I started teaching hot yoga, and continue to teach non-heated yoga. In 2011 I trained in Vinyasa Yoga and received my 200 ERYT. I continue to study and am proficient in Pralaya yoga. In 2014 I received my certification in Aerial Yoga. In addition to these styles of yoga I have also studied Hatha and Yin yoga. You can expect to see a multitude of styles and creative approaches in my classes. I believe yoga can be used as an ancient technology for us to move through old injuries, energtic stagnancies, and binds; I have seen it’s potential for healing and releasing and fully believe that yoga is healing if you allow yourself to be open to the process. My greatest passion is helping students learn how to use the yoga for their needs as their bodies and minds evolve, and the greatest gift I’ve received is watching people come into their full potential – their authentic, real selves. I am grateful to all of my mentors – Jennifer Burgermeister, Robert Boustany, Ernesto Cardenas, Josie Field, and so many more.

This year’s music will be provided by yours truly,

Anthony Rodriguez of AREXPRESSIONS
